Warm, Dry Weather Conditions Helping to Speed Up Harvest in Southern Michigan

So far, ten percent of Michigan’s corn has been harvest for grain, while 14 percent of Michigan’s soybeans have been harvested. That’s as of Sunday, Oct. 2 according to the USDA.

Stacey Hughes, Dealer with Specialty Hybrids, says there are reports of strong yields for Michigan’s soybeans this harvest around Jackson County in southern Michigan. However, she says not much in the way of corn has been harvested so far near her area.

Stacey adds that the recent weather conditions have been favorable to speed up the harvest process.
