Strong Yields Reported for Michigan’s Corn and Soybean Harvest

So far, three percent of Michigan’s corn has been harvest for grain, while eight percent of Michigan’s soybeans have been harvested. That’s as of Sunday, Sept. 25 according to the USDA.

Tom Manney, Technical Agronomist with Specialty Hybrids, says there are reports of strong yields for both Michigan’s corn and soybeans this harvest. He says farmers across southeastern Michigan are reporting soybean yields around 75-80 bushels per acre, while corn yields have approached 225 bushels per acres in some areas.
