Rain Returns for the Weekend

Martin says after the nice week that we’ve had, the weekend kicks off with a little bit of moisture moving through Saturday afternoon and evening.

“Right now, we’re looking at a few hundredths to probably 3 or 4 tenths across 75% of Lower Michigan; however, that’s the only moisture wave that we see in the most areas the through the entire weekend. We may see a little bit of action in The Thumb moving through next Monday afternoon but seeing slightly cooler temperatures for the first half of next week.”

And the second half of the week looks wet again.

“Wednesday night into Thursday we see rain showers moving across all of Lower Michigan, a tenth to probably half an inch with coverage at 80% of the state. We see a strong frontal boundary trying to come across next Friday that could bring us anywhere from a .25 to 1.25 inches of rain with coverage at 80% of the state, both the UP and Lower Michigan. Finally, behind that, we cool down dramatically for the weekend of the 21st and 22nd but we should be mostly dry through that weekend.”

And in Martin’s extended 11 to 16-day forecast, “We are drier to start the week of the 22nd. We are cool but dry for a good 3 to 4 days watching a frontal boundary come into play maybe late in that week toward the 25th into the 26th.
