Michigan’s #Harvest20 Is All But Complete

After the last couple years of difficult harvest conditions, Michigan’s 2020 harvest is in the books as USDA publishes its last weekly report.

Weather conditions remained normal for the week ending November 29, 2020. Some snow and wet weather earlier in the week didn’t cause too much damage since harvest was nearly complete.

According to USDA’s weekly Crop Progress Report, only 5 percent of corn harvested for grain remained in the field. It had a moisture content of 18 percent. USDA says some farmers are hoping for the crop to dry down a little more before wrapping up harvest.

Winter wheat emergence is now 100 percent complete, with 73 percent of the crop in good to excellent condition. That’s a decline of one point from the week prior.

USDA will publish their next weekly report series in April 2021.
