According to Ryan Martin, Michgan Ag Today chief meteorologist, we’re ending the week and starting the weekend with dry conditions on Friday and most of the day on Saturday.
“We’re seeing moisture try to lift into the Southern and Eastern Corn Belt through the day on Saturday, but I don’t think it shows up in a large part of Michigan until later,” he said. “Maybe we see some showers try to develop Saturday afternoon towards Saturday evening.”
Once we get past the system for the weekend, Monday and Tuesday appear to be dry.
“Wednesday of next week, a bit of a transition day—we see a front trying to come in,” said Martin. “The moisture looks to be a little farther south initially. I don’t see snow at the outset, but the wraparound with cold air on Thursday definitely means we could be looking for snow in the western part of the state as we move through Halloween.”
Nobody wants to have their jack-o-lanterns dusted in snow, or Halloween costumes covered by winter coats but that might be appropriate as we’ll see colder temperatures to end the month.
“The extended picture shows much colder air to finish next week going through Friday and Saturday,” said Martin. In the extended 11 to 16 day forecast window, we have to watch for one threat of moisture around Nov. 5.”
