Michigan’s apple crop is on pace, and growers are preparing for harvest.
Early varieties like Paula Red and Ginger Gold are estimated to be ready to harvest around August 25. Gala, the most-produced variety in the U.S., will be coming off trees around September 8, and the popular honeycrisp apple will be ready September 18.
An official estimate of the size of Michigan’s apple crop will be released on August 21, as part of the USApple Outlook Virtual Conference.
