If you’re a farmer with an injury, illness, or aging condition, Michigan AgrAbility can provide services to help you keep farming.
Cade Krieger works at Michigan State University Fruit and Vegetable Research Farm in Benton Harbor. Despite an injury following a car accident while he was in high school, he developed a passion for agriculture. thanks to collaboration with Michigan AgrAbility and their adaptive technologies.
Krieger, who began his agricultural journey through Michigan FFA, has reached out to Ned Stoller with Michigan AgrAbility over the past several years to adapt many of the machines and equipment used on the farm to be used by Krieger. A lift-equipped truck and custom hand levers allowed him to operate a mower, while a weed wick attached to his wheelchair enabled herbicide application.
