Friday is looking to be a sunny, dry day throughout the state, however Saturday could be a slight hiccup in an otherwise great weekend.
“We’ve got Canadian high pressure that wants to build in over the top of Michigan,” said MAT chief meteorologist Ryan Martin. “That’s a cooler batch of air, and it’s going to be clashing with some of this warmer, more humid air to the southwest. That makes for a ribbon of clouds to try and hang out here.”
He said Southeastern Michigan could receive a sprinkle, but it would be more prevalent in Northern and Central Ohio.
“Either way, we are looking at a mostly pleasant and dry weekend with sunshine most of the time,” said Martin.
From Monday to Wednesday, he’s forecasting sunshine and temperatures gradually climbing. That dry weather could last until possibly Thursday or Friday.
“[I’m’ watching a wave of moisture pass mostly to our north, coming across Northern Wisconsin in the Upper Peninsula and into Ontario,” said Martin. “Watch for a little bit of cloud cover to sneak across the Lower Peninsula overnight Thursday into Friday.
The next good chance of moisture could develop Sunday night into Monday which would pass through the center of the state with rain totals of up to a half inch.
