Make plans now to attend the Fort Wayne Farm Show, which is coming up January 13-15 at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum.
“It’s the largest indoor Farm Show in the area, and it’s free to get in the show. I can promise you won’t be disappointed, that’s for sure,” says Dan Slowinski, Show Director of the Fort Wayne Farm Show.
“We have 415 companies taking out 1,090 booths, so it’s going to be jam-packed full of equipment dealers, reps from seed companies, insurance companies—plus, tools, tractors, combines, irrigation. You name it, we’ve got it,” he says.
The event also features seminars hosted by Purdue Extension and Northeastern Indiana Soil and Water Conservation Districts focusing on several key topics impacting farms and ag businesses.
“We start off our seminars with the Market Outlook, which is always the most attended seminar each year. Other topics include pesticide applicator programs, farmer emergency care, and water resources, just to name a few,” says Slowinski.
He says that those who are looking for a new job or a career in the ag industry may find one during the Fort Wayne Farm Show.
“This year, different vendors will have different badges on there that will signify that they have got job openings and they’re looking to bring people on board,” he says.

Also, the Indiana FFA State Officers and members from nearby chapters will hold their annual Scholarship Fundraiser Auction at the Fort Wayne Farm Show with proceeds benefiting Indiana FFA leadership programs and scholarships for students in skilled trades or agriculture. This year’s auction will feature donated items including tools, decor, and even large equipment for bidding. The auction will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 13 and Wednesday, January 14 and raises over $20,000 for the Indiana FFA Foundation.
Most of all, Slowinski says the event gives farmers the chance to not only see new equipment up close, but also the chance to chat with several different company representatives one-on-one—and all in one place.
“They say our show is a ‘One-Stop Shop’ when it comes to researching different ag companies for their products and equipment, but I think there’s something special when you can look someone eye-to-eye, shake hands with the different company representatives, and ask questions right there on the spot,” he says.
You’ll also find Hoosier Ag Today at the Fort Wayne Farm Show. We’ll be set up in the lobby near the front entrance of the Coliseum, so if you plan on coming to the show, stop by our booth and say hi to our team—and watch us record and put together our news programs during the event!
