If you’re a farmer with an injury, illness, or aging condition, Michigan AgrAbility can provide services to help you keep farming.

Pam Mackinder is a beekeeper from Munith in Jackson County. She’s also the co-owner of Mx6 Ranch & Honey Bee Yards, which not only produces honey but beeswax candles!

When it came to her passion for beekeeping and her drive to work hard, her spirit remained strong, even though her body became weaker and weaker.

Pam shares her story and connection with Michigan AgrAbility.

“I had spent about 20 years in the fire service and had both of my knees replaced. I also have rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis in my arms, and everything just kind of started to escalate,” she says.  “I eventually reached out to Ned Stoller with Michigan AgrAbility and he had all kinds of ideas that I had not even thought about! Ned came out to the farm and pointed out all these things that would just immediately impact my ability to keep moving forward with what I was doing here.”
