According to the USDA Crop Progress Report for Monday, May 6, Michigan’s sugarbeets are now 75 percent planted. That compares to 49 percent for last week and 18 percent for two weeks ago.

USDA also says that Michigan’s sugarbeet planting progress is well above the five-year planting pace of 62 percent. In addition, 50 percent of the state’s sugarbeets that have been planted so far have already emerged.
