The board has selected Ms. Heather Weber to lead its multi-state operations.  Weber brings with her extensive knowledge of the marketing order, the tart cherry industry and the CIAB.  She has worked for the CIAB for 23 years in increasingly more responsible positions. Most recently Weber served as the Interim Executive Director of the CIAB and before that, she held the position of Compliance Officer.

“We are extremely thankful that Heather accepted this position.  She is very experienced in all that the CIAB does and is very well qualified to assume this leadership position.  Her career with us has been marked by greater responsibilities at every juncture. Working with growers and handlers nationwide, the USDA and with the three previous Executive Directors, has prepared Heather well to lead the tart cherry industry into the future.” The Executive Committee of the CIAB.

The CIAB is a federal marketing order that represents tart cherry growers and processors in seven states: Michigan, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Utah, Washington, and Wisconsin to stabilize the annual cherry supply as well as educating consumers and promoting the benefits of tart cherries.

The CIAB administrates the Federal Marketing Order for Tart Cherries in the United States.  Authorized by the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture, the CIAB is composed of growers and processors from across the U.S. Learn more at cherryboard.org.
