Michigan Ag Council Names Michigan GROWN, Michigan GREAT Ambassadors

The Michigan Ag Council has announced the third class of Michigan GROWN, Michigan GREAT Ambassadors, a training program that helps develop young influencers for the agriculture industry in Michigan.

These six ambassadors will serve as public faces for the Michigan GROWN, Michigan GREAT campaign, engaging with consumers on important issues in agriculture and gaining knowledge and insight into Michigan’s diverse farming sector.

The 2022 Michigan GROWN, Michigan GREAT Ambassadors were selected using a competitive application and interview process. The six selected bring diversified experience in the agriculture industry, from asparagus and fruit production, to culinary mixology.

The ambassadors are:

  • Michael Ceja, Alma
  • Kelley Chase, Conklin
  • Angie Jackson, Kalamazoo
  • Emily Mead, Sturgis
  • Emma Woller, Montague
  • Zoey Zupin, Kentwood

The ambassadors will undergo a comprehensive training program and will spend the remainder of 2022 promoting the Michigan GROWN, Michigan GREAT campaign at farmers markets and other events throughout the state, as well as promote the program through social media, the Michigan Agriculture & Food podcast and in blogs.

“The Michigan GROWN, Michigan GREAT Ambassador program provides individuals with a platform to be an advocate and influencer for Michigan agriculture,” said Noelle Nachreiner, executive director of the Michigan Ag Council.

“They will be tasked with meeting consumers where they are to have meaningful conversations about how food is grown and prepared in Michigan.”

The Michigan Ag Council is an organization of commodity groups and agribusinesses working together to raise awareness of food and agriculture today. The primary goal of the Michigan GROWN, Michigan GREAT campaign, launched in 2016, is to build awareness for the more 300 commodities grown in Michigan and to encourage consumer to purchase local foods and products.
