Michigan FFA, a student organization for those interested in agriculture and leadership, is launching its 2022 funding campaign on March 6, 2022.
This year, the organization, which currently has 123 local chapters and more than 7,500 student members located across the state of Michigan, is getting a special “boost” from Crystal Flash, Inc., to increase donations.
The 2022 Michigan FFA Matching Gift Campaign derives its name from a commitment made by Grand Rapids-based energy distribution company Crystal Flash to match all donations collected via the campaign’s website on a dollar-for-dollar basis, up to $10,000.
The campaign concludes on March 31, 2022, with a goal to raise $20,000, in total, for the Michigan FFA Glassbrook Endowment Fund.
Funds raised during the campaign, also timed to coincide with the Michigan FFA State Convention on March 9-11, 2022, will provide students with opportunities to invest in themselves through leadership programs, real-world experiences, career development events and the State FFA Convention. Donations also subsidize achievement awards and scholarships, ensuring that students can further their education.
Michigan FFA is dedicated to closing skills gaps by equipping students with agricultural/business skills and leadership abilities necessary to succeed. The organization notes that 81% of agricultural jobs require more than a high school degree, but only 3% of college students are pursuing a degree in agriculture.
“The Michigan FFA Association is excited to partner with Crystal Flash for this special campaign,” said Amara Jackson, State FFA President. “We are grateful for their generous support of Michigan FFA members and the Michigan FFA Foundation which will ensure that our students and programs continue to succeed.
