The AgroExpo’s 2021 Return: Robust Speaker, Demonstration Line Up

The 2021 AgroExpo is less than 100 days away as an in-person event. To say that Burt Henry, industry relations manager, is excited for the farm show is an understatement.

“You can expect a very well-put-together show because people are excited—vendors and exhibitors are excited about being there,” said Henry. “We’re really trying to put an event together that brings our ag community back together that we can network at and feel some sense of normalcy by the middle of August.”

Since the two-day farm show didn’t happen last year, the show will pack a big punch with a lot of activities.

“We’ll see some spot demonstrations of tillage—forage choppers will be on display both days of the event,” said Henry. “We will have 90-plus different corn hybrids and probably 40 to 60 different soybean varieties on display, along with a whole list of guest speakers, CCA credits and RUP credits.”

The AgroExpo is likely to be the first major farm show of the year with the potential to pull people from an 8-hour radius. Henry says there is a COVID-response plan in place with both state and local health departments.

“Things are constantly changing,” he said. “We have a plan for self-screening on the way in, we have 13 hand sanitizing stations throughout the event. We will have one-way setups so the traffic’s flowing one way through the event—especially on our inside areas. We’ve expanded the speaker tent, the cafeteria area. We will have crews cleaning tables, wiping chairs down. At the end of each day, we have a crew coming in to totally sanitize the place.”

There will also be 21 FFA Chapters participating in the crop management challenge. The event will be August 17 and 18. For more information, visit theagroexpo.com.
