The MAT Story
Timely. Relevant. Credible.
Michigan agriculture is one of the most varied and productive industries in the nation. With over 300 crops in commercial production, Michigan ranks second behind only California in diversity. Row crops, specialty crops, dairy, and livestock make agriculture a major economic driver in the state. The farmers that make up this industry depend on a timely, relevant, and credible source for information every day. Michigan Ag Today is that source. With a growing network of local radio stations across the state and several web and digital channels, Michigan Ag Today has become a source that farmers rely on to stay informed.
With a team of nationally known farm broadcasters, Michigan Ag Today delivers a level of comprehensive information not equaled by any other source in the state. Network programs contain futures prices, analysis, a Michigan farm weather forecast, specialty crop updates, plus on-location coverage of state, national, and international farm news.
How it Began
The Michigan Ag Information Network began in 2015, founded by well-known Michigan farm broadcaster Pat Driscoll. In 2019, Driscoll sold the network to Hoosier Ag Today, an Indiana company with over 17 years of experience in network management and operation, in order to take MAIN to the next level. In August of 2019, the network name was changed to Michigan Ag Today to better reflect the timely news and market content that was added to the programing. MAT is now the most listened to farm radio network in Michigan and is a member of the National Association of Farm Broadcasting (NAFB).

His knowledge of farm policy issues and extensive news contacts gives his reports depth and detail. His work has been honored by the National Association of Farm Broadcasting (NAFB).

Assistant News Director C.J. Miller grew up on an Indiana farm and has worked at some of the Midwest’s most prestigious radio stations. He joined the MAT news team in 2022 and hasadded a new dimension to MAT content. His coverage goes beyond the headlines and tells the story of the men, women, and youth that are the fabric of Michigan agriculture. In 2017, Miller received the Spectrum Award from the Indiana Broadcasters Association (IBA) for his newscasts on WIBC-FM in Indianapolis. In 2023, he was honored by the National Association of Farm Broadcasting (NAFB) with the Editor’s Choice Award for outstanding broadcast journalism.
MAT Chief Meteorologist Ryan Martin is a Purdue University trained meteorologist who produces the kind of forecast farmers really want to hear. That is because Ryan is also a farmer. His daily radio weather segments feature the kind of agronomic detail left out of most other weather reports.
