Five Students Win Michigan Corn Growers Association Scholarship

The Michigan Corn Growers Association (MCGA) announced Monday that it had awarded scholarships to five students from across the state for the 2021 year. Each student will receive $2,000.

This year’s recipients are:

  • Allison Holdwick from Harbor Beach
  • Scott Jackson from Palmyra
  • Jacie King from Burr Oak
  • Megan Schlabach from Sturgis
  • Kathleen Zahm from Marne

“We’re pleased to have the opportunity to invest in the future leaders of Michigan’s agriculture industry by providing this scholarship,” said Penni Sweeney, membership director for MCGA. “We had a competitive group of applicants this year, and our recipients represent some of the best and brightest. We wish them luck and look forward to seeing what they will accomplish.”

The MCGA Scholarship is open to all members of MCGA, including students, growers and associates, as well as children of members, between the ages of 17-25. Applicants must be enrolled full-time at a post-secondary educational institution during the fall semester of 2021 to be eligible. Students are only eligible to win an MCGA scholarship one time. More information about the scholarship is available online at www.micorn.org.
