After ten years on the job, Carl Bednarski is hanging up his proverbial hat and retiring as President of Michigan Farm Bureau.

“You wear out your welcome if you stay longer than that,” Bednarski said in a press release from Michigan Ag Today announcing his retirement.

Bednarski will remain on the job until the Michigan Farm Bureau’s Annual Meeting, which is set for Dec. 3 and 4 at Amway Grand / DeVos Place in Grand Rapids. During the meeting, delegates will elect the next Michigan Farm Bureau President.

Michigan Ag Today’s C.J. Miller spoke with Bednarski about why he decided to retire, the outstanding policies impacting Michigan producers—including the lack of a new Farm Bill from Congress—as well his plans for retirement and his advice for the next Michigan Farm Bureau President.
