Michigan FFA is in the middle of its 2022 funding campaign and is getting closer to meeting its campaign goal. Crystal Flash, a Grand Rapids-based energy distribution company, has promised to match donations up to $10,000.

Sydney Masters, State FFA Treasurer, says the goal is to raise $20,000 by the end of April with this help.

“This is one of the first times we’ve done a campaign like this, but they are a huge supporter of FFA and [Michigan FFA] has a strong relationship with them,” she says. “They’re really supportive of our goals and what we try to help our students achieve. They really love our organization, so they wanted to help make a big impact.”

The funds from the campaign go will go to the Glassbrook Endowment Fund, which helps promote and strengthen Michigan’s agriculture industry.

“One of the key ways they do that is by helping fund leadership experiences and stuff for Michigan FFA members throughout the year,” says Masters. “It is also used for funding grants for agriscience programs as well as scholarships for students who are hoping to continue their education in agriculture after high school.”

As of this week, Michigan FFA is nearly 10 percent away from reaching its goal. Masters says that with the campaign match, those dollars will stretch even further.

“When you donate to an endowment like this, that is an especially meaningful donation because the money you donate today is only going t grow over time as it’s invested,” she adds. “Your donation is going to provide funding for generations of students to come. It’s really a meaningful and impactful way to donate.”
