The Michigan Agri-Business Association is getting ready to host its first in-person Winter Conference in two years. Chuck Lippstreu, MABA’s president, is a little excited for the event happening January 10 through 12.
“It’s the same conference we know and love back in-person at the Lansing Center,” he says. “Thinks have changed the last couple years. It’s no secret we have a whole wide array of new challenges facing anybody operating in Michigan agriculture. That’s why this conference is designed not just to get those continuing education credits for their RUP license or their CCA certification but look ahead at how we tackle some of these big challenges.”
This year’s event will bring in more than 130 speakers on topics ranging from outlook issues to specific training to continuing education.
“Thinking about things like the labor crisis, the supply chain crisis, getting back to work in a safe way, thinking about safety across all we do, navigating some of the legal issues that have emerged during the COVID emergency,” says Lippstreu.
Keynote speakers at this year’s event will include House Ag Chair Julie Alexander and Senate Ag Committee Chair Kevin Daley, The Nature Conservancy, and more.
“We’ve tried to put this together in a way that delivers some of those baseline training needs our members count on while also addressing some of the biggest challenges we face as an industry,” says Lippstreu.
