Michigan will be hosting one of its largest ag events of the summer in a few days. The AgroExpo will open its doors next Tuesday at 8, giving the region its first outdoor farm show since 2019.
“You can expect a very vibrant ag community that’s ready to meet people,” said Burt Henry, industry relations manager. “The excitement continues to grow with our vendors—we’ve added about half a dozen [new] vendors in the last two weeks that are looking for a place to get out and interact with growers. You’re going to see demonstrations. You’ll see speakers that have a wide array of topics. With two years of pent-up energy, I think everybody’s ready to roll.”
Local FFA chapters also come to the AgroExpo to participate contests and events.
“We have the FFA Crop Management Challenge contest that will happen on the morning of the 18th,” said Henry. “We are hosting the State FFA Tractor Operators contest, also on the 18th.”
Early registration kicked off last week, and it is still going on through 6 p.m. today. If you’re going, it might pay to register before the show starts.
“They can go to our website, TheAgroExpo.com, and register for the event,” said Henry. “It’s a free registration, but we are giving away a $500 gift certificate to one person that will be drawn to use at any of our vendors that are at the show.”
